Catharsis can be fun.
After a discussion of how the people whose religions brought them to vote for Bush suck, my mom's own milder version of Christianity, her borderline panetheism (seeing God in everything, especially nature), my own disinclination away from theism in general and such:

My mom: Maybe we should pray for God to smite Bush.
Me: Then we would have to ask God to smite at least several million [religious extremists] who voted for Bush.
My mom: Let's ask God for a small genocide. All we need is a little genocide to make us happy.
