Kids, a little moral lesson for you.
Kids, curl up on my laps, and I'll tell you a truth. Not a story, a simple, short, and straightforward out truth.
Don't labor to please others without paying attention to your own feelings. It can break you. Seriously. I was flaky before I got an office job (a few years now), but I think it likely wrecked long-running havoc on my longterm stability. I can trace the start of at least one issue to it.
I worked until I had nervous breakdowns. Don't do this.
It doesn't matter how much you might want to be nice to others, or fulfill their expectations. Know your limits, what you can stand. Easier said than done, of course.
