Hmms about Christmas.

For Christmas, I got practical things, because I didn't really bother to ask for anything. And, honestly, I'd have been perfectly fine with receiving nothing. The things I want those days seem to be things I enjoy shopping for myself, or things that one can't just buy and giftwrap. Mostly the latter, really.

The gift-giving component of Christmas no longer really seems to matter to me. The thing is, I think this is a trend I've slowly been creeping toward. I've been asking for only a few things, and even requested a little that I not receive more. On those occasions when I asked that I not get much, I received more than I asked for anyway.

Maybe I should move the full mile and, next times, ask for people to do me the favor of giving me nothing, as my Christmas (and birthday) gifts. I might even have been happier with that.

Maybe I'm just still figuring out what I want, or if there's a way to get it as gifts.
