Impending hard drive failure?

Decided to try out an OS X program (SMARTreporter) that does hard drive monitoring by checking the hard drive's internal self-reporting mechanisms. It says the hard drive's in trouble. Checked with Disk Utility. It says the hard drive's in trouble.

Well, what to do now? I already suffered data loss on this computer, and sent it in to a repair company who replaced the motherboard and told me they couldn't recover the data. I suppose a new hard drive would be the simplest way to go, but I don't know how much more is worthwhile to invest in a computer this old (G3 iBook laptop I got off eBay). I already spent a few hundred dollars on repairs.

Not sure I can afford a new computer right now. This might be a good time to get on my ass about getting rid of the car sitting up in Connecticut right now, though, see if I can get my parents to buy it since they get a lot of use out of it. There's also a Linux desktop in Connecticut I haven't been using either (my parents haven't mailed it down yet). If I can sell either (or better yet both) of those, I have more funds to cover things in general.
