Citigroup
Today, my mom told me about her issues with Citigroup. Seems they once again claim they haven't gotten her check to pay off her credit card (my parents are quite responsible in that they keep their month-to-month balances zero to avoid paying interest). It's been ten days. It is the second time this has happened, and would mean her having to pay interest yet again. Citigroup blames the Postal Office.
My mom told me that this lateness/losing of her credit card payment has never ever before happened in her 30 years of experience with other companies. Then it happens twice with the same company. Who has a record of scandals in another branch, the investing one, and whose customer service I have not heard much good about.
My mom will be ending her business with them.
The customer service person she called denied any possibility of wrongdoing by Citigroup and assumed a tone suggesting an opinion of looniness on her part, and got indignant when my mom brought up the name of an actual criminal from the company. Heh.
