Incidentally, a note to anyone who wants to learn sign language...
When do people learn languages?
A good look at the realities behind language acquisition. For example, my ex picked up modest sign language in a few months by both attending sign language classes and talking more or less regularly with me. I found her learning speed remarkable enough. On the other hand, those of my extended relatives who're been studying sign language for years never really progressed, in good part due to lack of applications (they don't see me often enough for that, generally only at some holidays and such).
