Laptop: Death and Rebirth
Okay, my laptop's back. The data's a total loss--it has a new hard drive because they couldn't salvage the old one. But I now have a working iBook again.
The laptop's old name was Kasumi, after a character from Alien Nine. But after its ordeal, I've named it Hana, after a character from Milk Closet (by the same creator of Alien Nine), who goes through a meatgrinder-like thing that renders her into a sort of creamy soup, but gets resurrected by a little orca that swallows organisms then recreates them with the regenerating eggs in its tail.
Anyway, I've reinstalled most of the things I used on the laptop before. It's now back in commission. I've lost a number of things, but most of it I can recreate, I think.
Well, that's it for now.
