Scrolling red LED belt-buckle.

Oh, yeah, and there's the scrolling belt-buckle. Must not forget it. http://www.scrollingbuckle.com/ I found it amusing but thought it was just silly frippery, but then I realized: this is clothing that you can make to say anything you want, and you can change the message anytime. And, uh, I've always found those things kind of fascinating. I remember watching them at my school and anywhere else I encountered them, just to watch them scroll and scroll. Plus it has a kinda fun geek-ugly chic. And now you can wear one of those things around, having it saying much more interesting things than bland announcements. Maybe even goofy mock-announcements from Mars, etc.

Hell, I almost think one could use it to hypnotize the sorts of people easily entranced by it. I don't have any experience with this, though, so I don't know if it'd actually be useful, heh.

[livejournal.com profile] queenofstripes, if it wasn't for your inspiration, I wouldn't be looking as much beyond the surfaces at things like this with an eye for the weird possibilities. Thank you. :)

Edit: Goofy idea: techno-punko urban fairy look!

Ooh, now I'm really glad I decided to wade through a whole weekend's worth of messages. :) The buckle is kinda silly and tacky and "blingy" in its own social context, but if anybody can reclaim it it's us. :) The urban techno-fairy outfit is a must-do, for somebody with a better figure than mine...

I was thinking we should be friends...

...and reading through your journal for some apropos place to mention that. I could comment on any number of your posts, but I want you to know that we have LED belt buckle synchronicity! :) "Iced Out Gear" has got a great variety of different LED colors -- and clear plastic belts! There cannot possibly be enough clear and translucent plastic in my wardrobe.

Sure! And, damn, this is an old thread. ;)

Neat. :) I've noticed your comments here and there before, I like the way you think. I added you and also put you on all of my filters... I assumed from your interests that they won't traumatize you. (Bore you to death is another matter.)

And, damn, this is an old thread. ;)

I know! :9 But your more recent entries were more personal, and it seemed like inserting myself into a private conversation to jump right in and start commenting on your dreams and such. My own LED belt buckle entry is pretty ancient, and it struck me as funny that we were writing about it in roughly the same time period.

Hee. Yep. Added back, by the way. I don't make many private posts but I do have a few.
