Zippy the Pinhead
May. 9th, 2004 01:13 pmI might as well randomly mention the only newspaper comic strip I actually read: Zippy the Pinhead.
The primary character, and another main character seem to be avatars of the creator, the primary one of his weird, childish side, and the other of his real-world, weary, slightly cynical self. In many ways, this seems like the work of what Postvixen would probably call a fluorscent person, though his odd obsessions run more toward kitsch than the particular oddnesses shared by me and some of the people that have me on their friends list.
His primary character regularly talks to bizarre giant commercial-kitsch statues, wanders around diners, and goes to an alternative dimension where he asks about hopes for a brighter 2004, and the statue inhabitants reassure him by telling him that in that dimension, time and space don't really exist, so January 2004 doesn't exist. :)
And, who among you don't identify in at least some way with this?
