On the Pitfalls of Sponsor+, and the Proposed LJ Profile Page

I'm rethinking my decision to make my account Sponsor+, due to an incident with unscrupulous ad makers. And, honestly, I'd rather see just Google-style ads anyway.

Also, I signed here at this petition not because I agree with the alarmism over "LJ turning into MySpace", but simply because I don't like the proposed new user profile page. It does better show some things that weren't shown well in the old profiles (that were hidden as only icons) which I do appreciate. However, it's, uh, ugly.
